What is Size It Up?
Size It Up is a visual estimating challenge about the scale of familiar and surprising things. Each round places a reference object beside a target object. Your task is to resize the target until its measured dimension looks correct relative to the reference. You do not type a number, choose from a list, or see the answer range before committing. You judge the relationship with your eyes, lock in the estimate, and then compare it with the source-backed measurement.
The Daily version of Size It Up contains five rounds shared by everyone for the same UTC date. The objects, order, measurement dimension, and scoring rules are consistent for that Daily set. Once you finish, you receive a score out of 500 and a spoiler-free result that can be shared without revealing the objects or answers. For signed-in players, the first five estimates recorded for an account become that account’s locked score for the UTC date.
Every Size It Up puzzle states the dimension being compared. The current collection includes character, landmark and launch-vehicle heights plus aircraft, ship, train and spacecraft lengths. Height is not the width of a silhouette, and a vehicle’s length is not its wingspan or beam. Read the named dimension before adjusting the target. The visible measurement axis and alignment show what matters, so the challenge tests scale judgment instead of hidden wording.
How the Daily Size It Up works
Size It Up step 1: read the comparison
Start each Size It Up round by reading the two object names and the dimension label. One silhouette is the fixed reference and shows its sourced measurement. The other is your adjustable target. Both use the same measurement dimension for that puzzle, so the visible reference gives you a trustworthy scale anchor without revealing the target answer.
Size It Up step 2: resize the target
Drag the visible scale handle, pinch on touch screens, or use the Smaller and Larger buttons. Keyboard players can use the plus and minus keys. The target can also be moved so the silhouettes are easier to inspect, and the view can fit different objects on screen. Only the target’s scale along the stated measurement axis becomes your answer. Position and camera zoom do not change the estimate.
Size It Up begins each target at the same normalized scale as the reference. That starting point is not a clue that the objects are equal. It is a neutral canvas. Look at the baseline, center marker, or axis origin provided for the current dimension, then decide whether the target should become smaller or larger.
Size It Up step 3: lock in one estimate
Choose Lock In when the proportion looks right. A Size It Up answer cannot be edited after the reveal, so take a final look at the named dimension before committing. There is no countdown in the Daily mode. You can make a quick instinctive choice or spend longer checking the silhouette relationship.
Size It Up step 4: review the reveal
The reveal overlays the actual proportion and reports whether your estimate was too small, too large, or an exact match. It also shows percentage error, factor difference, the round score, a short fact, and the measurement source. This turns each Size It Up round into a small piece of reusable scale knowledge instead of a bare right-or-wrong result.
Size It Up step 5: complete all five rounds
Move through the fixed Daily sequence until all five Size It Up rounds are complete. The result screen totals the five scores, with up to 100 points available per round. You can copy a compact, spoiler-free result or continue into Unlimited mode for more practice. Unlimited play does not replace or change the completed Daily result.
Understanding the score
Size It Up rewards proportional closeness. An estimate that is twice the real proportion and an estimate that is half the real proportion receive the same treatment because both are equally far away as ratios. This symmetric approach avoids favoring guesses that happen to be above or below the answer.
An estimate within about six percent of the actual ratio earns 100 points. The score then falls across defined error ranges, reaching zero when the estimate is five times too large or five times too small. Size It Up displays a rounded score from 0 to 100 for each round. The Daily total therefore ranges from 0 to 500.
Tips for stronger size estimates
Size It Up tip: follow the measurement axis
Before changing the target, find the axis or baseline. Height puzzles share a ground line, while length puzzles compare the distance from one named end to the other. A wing, solar array or ship superstructure projecting sideways or upward does not change the named length. Size It Up becomes clearer when you compare the marked dimension instead of the objects’ overall occupied area.
Size It Up tip: think in simple ratios
Ask whether the target appears roughly half, equal, twice, or five times the reference before making fine adjustments. Broad ratio categories are easier to judge than arbitrary percentages. Once the estimate is close, use smaller controls to refine it. This two-pass method makes Size It Up less dependent on nervous micro-adjustment.
Size It Up tip: do not compare visual area
A bulky silhouette may look larger because it occupies more pixels, but the puzzle scores only the stated dimension. A wide animal can cover more of the canvas while still having a shorter measured length. Treat Size It Up as an axis comparison, not a contest over which silhouette fills more space.
Why the objects can vary
Real-world measurements depend on definitions. A species may have a range. A product family may contain several models. A mountain can be described by elevation or prominence. A ship can have overall length, waterline length, and beam. Size It Up chooses one named dimension and records the qualifier used for that puzzle.

Daily play, progress, and privacy
Size It Up is free to play in a browser and does not require an account. You may optionally sign in with Google before or after completing the Daily to place its first-attempt score on the public leaderboards. Your Daily progress, result, preferences, and recent play state may also be stored in your browser so a refresh does not automatically erase the session. Clearing browser storage can remove anonymous progress, but it cannot reset or replace a signed-in account’s Daily score after that score has been recorded by the service.
The Daily set changes according to UTC rather than each player’s local midnight. That gives Size It Up one shared puzzle date worldwide. Signed-in players who complete all five first attempts can appear on that date’s public leaderboard. The board is for friendly comparison and is not a prize or identity-verification system.

Is Size It Up free?
Yes. The current Daily and Unlimited modes are free to play. Google sign-in is optional and is only required if you want your completed Daily score associated with a public leaderboard name. No subscription, credits, or payment step is currently required. This describes the current service and is not a promise that every future feature will always be free.
How many rounds are in Size It Up Daily?
Each Daily Size It Up contains five rounds. Every round can award up to 100 points, giving a maximum Daily score of 500. The object order remains fixed for that date.
Does Size It Up show measurements before I answer?
The fixed reference measurement is visible before you answer. The target value and correct ratio stay hidden until you lock in the estimate. This makes the task understandable while preserving the challenge of estimating the target object’s real-world scale.
Does moving an object in Size It Up change my answer?
No. Moving the target or changing the camera view only helps inspection. Size It Up scores the target scale along the stated measurement axis. Reset restores the neutral scale and view.
Can I play Size It Up with touch or a keyboard?
Yes. Use pinch or the visible Smaller and Larger buttons on touch screens. With a keyboard, use Tab to reach controls, plus and minus to resize, and Enter or Space to activate buttons. Size It Up does not require precise pointer dragging.
Where do Size It Up answers come from?
Each published puzzle must pass a source review. The reveal provides the chosen dimension, measurement, qualifier when needed, and a public source. Because objects can vary, Size It Up avoids claiming that every measurement is universal or perfectly exact.
Is this Size It Up an official version of another game?
No. Size It Up Party is an independent project. It is not the official, authorized, sponsored, or affiliated version of another size-comparison game. Its interface, code, puzzle arrangement, scoring rules, written explanations, and original graphics are independently created.
What is Size It Up Unlimited mode?
Unlimited mode serves additional published puzzles using the same visual comparison and scoring rules. It is useful for practice after the Daily Size It Up. Unlimited results do not alter the Daily score.
